It’s no secret that I love lipstick. I feel like it is one of my “don’t leave the house without” requirements. Usually I just sport a pink-nude gloss for everyday-grocery shopping business, but it’s not uncommon for me to wear red, hot pink (a good hot pink, not 80’s superstar hot pink), and most recently I bought this one from Sephora, it’s named African Violet. I like how lipstick can totally transform your look without much effort. When I see a girl with red lips I always think “oh wow, she’s sophisticated!” even if she’s wearing a hoodie and yoga pants.
I’m constantly on the search for the perfect lipstick (aren’t we all?). I hate when lipstick dries out your lips or lasts 30 seconds. This Sephora Collection is pretty nice for the price and there are over 30 colors. I’m quite fond of this one from Mirenesse. It’s a matte lip stain, but very hydrating and creamy.
This Christmas I was gifted the Tarte Kissing Squad Limited Edition Sculptor Quad. And let me tell you… game changer. Run, don’t walk to go buy it before it sells out. Only $34 for FOUR full size lipstick/gloss combos! These are the first lipsticks I’ve tried from Tarte and I’m obsessed now. Up until now the only Tarte product I’ve used is this mascara, which I like a lot. I also received a couple Tarte eyeshadow palettes I’m swooning over, here and here. But this post is about lipstick not eyeshadow so more about those another day!
The lip sculptor and gloss included in the kit are a full coverage, satin matte lipstick on one end and a coordinating, pigmented lip gloss in the other. You can wear each individually or together for a rich look. They are infused with coconut oil and maracuja so they feel super buttery and glide on like a dream. The colors included are totally everyday wearable and flattering for all skin colors. Kitten is a lovely, easy to wear nude, Minx is a slightly darker pinky nude, Flirt is a fun berry shade and finally Pixie is a flattering mauve-berry color.
Kitten is the perfect nude. I’ll probably keep it in my diaper bag for my go-to everyday lip.
Minx is more of a dark nude. It might be a tad brown for my liking, but still a nice shade.
Pixie is a rosy berry color. I think Pixie is my favorite of the bunch.
Flirt is a true berry. It’s the darkest and brightest of the pack. I think Flirt is a fun, flattering , easy to wear color.
I love this set. I wish I was savvy and knew about it before Christmas! I would have bought it for all my friends. It’s such a great value. Buy it here!
