I’m sitting here drinking my (cold) coffee, glancing at my sleeping babe on the monitor and trying to put into words how life has felt the last year. My child was born in May 2016 and my blog and Etsy Shop were born in September 2016. I may have been out of my mind when I started a blog and Etsy Shop with a 4 month old. Oh and did I mention we are building a house?
I originally started my blog to have an outlet as a stay at home mom. I’ve been a nurse for 12 years and going from working 12 hour days to staying home with my newborn was a big adjustment. I loved being home with her, but was feeling the need for more purpose, if that makes any sense. It was also a good reason to get out of the house for a few hours. It’s all too easy to lose yourself in the day to day of being a new mom. You want to be there every minute for your child, but in order to be there and be the best mom, you need to take time to recharge yourself. For the longest time I wasn’t doing that and was feeling like I was about to lose my freaking mind!
I’ve always been a girly girl so when we found out we were having a girl I was totally over the moon. I’ve also always loved crafting so I started making my daughter bows before she was born. I had some friends say how much they liked them and someone suggested I sell them. And thus, Etsy arrived. I love having an Etsy shop. I enjoying selling a product that makes people (mostly moms) so happy. When I was pregnant I remember holding the little bows and feeling so excited for what was to come. Seeing my customers post photos of their babes wearing my bows makes my heart explode with joy. And makes me feel pretty damn proud knowing there are tons of little ladies all over the country wearing my bows.
For Fall 2017 shop opening, I’m doing a little giveaway and giving you, my loyal readers a special discount code! Use code 1YEAR for 15% from September 10th-15th in my shop. I’ve added a new style of bow for this release. The “Ella” bow. I love this one so much I had to name it after my baby girl! I’ve also decided to discontinue the Sailor Bow. Insert sad emoji. The Sailor Bows are actually quite labor intensive. I have to cut, iron, sew, iron, assemble, each bow takes a significant amount of time. Now, I know there are a few of you who loved the Sailor Bows…. So I’m not opposed to doing some custom orders if you MUST have them. Email me via Etsy and we can work it out.
I have the most amazing customers, and you have no idea how thankful I am for you guys. I have the Etsy Seller App on my phone, and when I make a sale this little “CHA CHING!!” cash register sound rings and it makes me do a little happy dance!
